@LegalSeller Alright, we talked enough about the ground battles. It's time to move onto the space battles. First topic, the Imperial starfighters vs the Covenant starfighters. I'll also discuss some of the smaller ships.
Tie fighters vs Space Banshees: Tie fighters have no shields but, are incredibly fast. They are used for rush tactics and are roughly equal to space banshees. But I actually think ties are better. They are faster and have heavier firepower. Both are death traps.
Sephrahs vs tie interceptors and bombers: I'm just going to put the bombers and interceptors together since the Empire has a larger variety of fighters than the Covenant. Interceptors are faster with decent firepower but, they have no shields. Bombers have homing missiles which could beat down a Seprah's shields but, they also are slow and unshielded. Bombers are made so they can't be detected by enemy ships, but I'm not sure how that would work vs the Covenant. Sephrahs win this one, but I think a squad of 5 ties can match a Sephrah and a bomber could play a big role in taking one down if it is not immediately blasted.
If the ties are too close together, then a Sephrah could take out several of them at once. Ion torpedos have an electromagnetic pulse that can take down shields and disable ships. So, if tie fighters or interceptors land one then that could disable a Seprah's shields. The shots are relatively large and fairly fast but they can be dodged. Elites in Seprahs are known for being very crafty and difficult to hit.
Sephrahs vs Tie Defenders: Tie defenders have personal shields, four plasma turrets (but the turrets are less powerful than the primary tie fighter turrets), have missile launchers, and are probably faster than Sephrahs. Sephrahs are more crafty and difficult to hit but, tie defenders are faster and have more firepower. I call this one a tie.
Covenant Dropships (Halo CE and Reach) vs Tie Reapers: Covenant Dropships have a better primary weapon which can deal more damage with a consistent yet slow rate of fire. Tie Repeaters have two laser cannons with a decent rate of fire but, nothing impressive and no great damage rate either. Reapers have strong shields and armor. If I were to guess, I'd say Dropships take them out in a direct fight but, reapers win if they can get the drop on them. From what I've seen from star wars squadrons, they seem to be used in a more stealthy way than standard imperial shields.
They also come with ion weapons which can disable fighters. While it wouldn't make a big difference vs dropships, it would be very useful vs space banshee and seprahs. Though I think a Seprah vs a Reaper is a 50/50 fight due to the way a reaper is designed.
Phantoms vs Imperial Star Wings: This imperial vehicle had the closest role I could find. It exists in both legends and cannon. It has laser cannons, missile launchers, and ion weapons. Meaning it can take down a phantom's shields quickly with its ion weapons then finish it off with missiles and laser cannons. However, Reach Style phantoms have thick armor and a heavy missile turret that can deal a decent amount of damage. All in all, I say a star wing will just blast the primary gun of the phantom off then take it down.
There are also Halo 2 style phantoms with three rapid fire plasma turrets. These phantoms stand a better chance. Imo, they will drain the Star Wing's shields then get hammered by missiles and turbolasers before getting taken down. If they had a phantom with three turrets (like in halo 2) and the heavy plasma launchers that the Reach phantoms have, then it's a 50/50 fight.
Imperial Dropship Transports vs Phantoms: This is that imperial gunship from the Force Unleashed. They are also cannon. They are armed with two powerful turbolasers and have fairly thick armor. They are fast vehicles and probably are roughly equal to phantoms. I call this an even fight.
Note: On the ground Phantoms would be more deadly and effective than imperial shuttles. I'd like to the Nemsis-class gunships return from legends. They would demolish Covenant Phantoms and Dropships. They have thick armor and very heavy firepower. They come with two missile launchers and a heavy rapid fire blaster turret. These gunships are very impressive and make sense because sometimes the Empire sends in elite heavy duty forces.
No doubt, they were quite rare in use but, these things would even spook most Covenant forces. I believe they can only be used in-atmosphere, like the cannon tie strikers. Strikers would demolish banshees in battle and takedown Phantoms with their rapid speed and heavy firepower (plus great accuracy). I'm not sure if they come with extra heavy weapons or not, but their armor isn't very durable. I believe they are difficult to pick up on scanners as well.
