Anti-Gravity Barges are vehicles used by the Covenant for civilian transportation in their cities and major installations.
The barges obviously use anti-gravity generators for lift. The only time they are seen in the series is in the novel Contact Harvest. They are used in major cities like High Charity and could possibly be used in other major installations (like the Unyielding Hierophant). They are normally used to transport large numbers of Grunts and Jackals however, the barges can be overloaded, causing them to crash, but this is a normal occurrence on High Charity. On High Charity they are controlled by the city's transportation grid. Higher ranking members in the Covenant have their own personal gravity barges for use.[1]
