Beachhead is a Firefight map in Halo: Reach.[1] The level is set in a natural park in the metropolitan city of New Alexandria, on the planet Reach.[2]

Vehicles[]

Beachhead is the first firefight map in Halo: Reach (the very first being Lost Platoon in Halo 3: ODST) to feature drivable UNSC vehicles, (excluding the forklift). The map provides a Rocket Warthog in the garage as well as a Mongoose on the right side of the breezeway, both of which respawn at the beginning of every round. Beachhead also contains functional Ghosts placed variously around the terrain and Wraiths that are dropped by Phantoms.

Locations[]

The following are locations on the map that are so named on the player's HUD during gameplay:

  • Pavilion
  • Mezzanine
  • Beach Road
  • Terrace
  • Bridge
  • Breezeway
  • Stage
  • Central Coast
  • Lake
  • Access Road
  • Garage

Trivia[]

  • The design and setting of Beachhead are similar to that of Lost Platoon, a Firefight map from Halo 3: ODST. However, Lost Platoon is set on a savanna, whereas Beachhead takes place in a much more temperate area.
  • Beachhead is featured at the end of the campaign level Exodus, where Noble Six activates the missile batteries.
  • There is an area on a cliffside, and it makes an excellent sniping position as it allows you to survey almost half the entire map. Strangely, the area is titled "Out of Bounds…" However, it does not count down, countdown areas are labeled "OUT OF BOUNDS." This may indicate that Bungie does not want you in the spot but they will allow you to do so if you wish, or that it isn't fair, but you are allowed to be there. It is a very useful position because enemies will not attack you. Only Jackal Snipers are able to target you, as well as the occasional Heretic Heavy. There is also a position above the location labeled "Mezzanine" that also states this message, but may only be accessed using a jetpack.
  • There are four paths that phantoms take when dropping enemies, two of the paths drop wraiths and one drops a ghost.
