The Bloodblade[1] is a variant of the Type-1 Energy Sword which appears in the Halo: Evolutions short story Headhunters, in Halo 2: Anniversary's Multiplayer, in the Halo: Tales from Slipspace story Hunting Party and finally in Halo Wars 2. It is mainly employed by Covenant Special Operations. Its only major difference to its normal counterpart is that the blade glows with a red coloring, rather than the traditional blue.
Trivia
- In Halo 2: Anniversary it is solely used as the weapon wielded by infected players in the Infection gametype.
- It is likely that the weapon's name is in reference to the blood of humans or Jiralhanae, as Sangheili blood is not red.
