Possibly. There's a lot of Forerunner stuff in the background that could compromise his sanity. That, and the guy's been through a lot recently.
Dude it with the Halo 4 prologue. Him wearing a damn poncho in a desert. And this, the five steps of loss and grief.
1. Denial and Isolation. I predict master cheif to start out in this phase in Halo escalation and in Halo 5.
2. Agression. I predict the master cheif will go fricking crazy mad and end up massacreing a bunch of bad guys in Halo 5.
3. Bargaining. Master cheif will be like "what could I have done differently?" in between halo 5 and 6.
4. In halo 6 MC will go through depression but in the end he will come out in acceptance.

MC's robotic girlfriend just died, he's awoken into a future in which he's outdated and old, his efforts to end the war with the Covenant were ultimately futile, and soforth. I dunno bout you, Stars. :)
a u.s.a. civil war saber is out dated, but it still makes a great camping tool. :)
NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
Not the "They"!
The They

He's still alive, possibly bidding his time to make his move in Halo 5: Guardians and Halo Wars 2
