As the user in question, I cannot help but to contest this vote for demotion.
In particular, I refer to the chat log in question: I cannot help but to call into the glaringly obvious: as per Halo Nation Chat Regulation 22, reading verbatium:
22. Chat ≠ Wiki - The chat does not equal the wiki, therefore an individuals actions on the wiki do not affect the individuals rights/status in the chat, and vice versa.
I am afraid that the infraction above, while I admit incorrect to do, is not gross misconduct or reason for "sacking" myself. Furthermore, as per the the regulation specified above, using that as grounds for my demotion is both improper, largely tampering with the opinions of the users who make the demotional votes, and illegitimate in its current form.
In addition to this, 'abuse of power' is tossed about rather carelessly: the act of merely kicking an individual is an abuse of power? On the same level of kickbanning indiscriminately like the days of old? I dare say that your accusations are blown far out of proportions, TECH, and most of the options here reflect that gross exaggeration. Another issue is comments like "I don't even know who he is" with a support vote are not justifying their position nor making this a democratic process so outlined in the Voting policy.
To continue, while my contributions here are largely lacking, circumstances in my life have prevented me from being an active contributor: which will hopefully change in the near future.
A few final points: I think it would be better to have this on a forum to better facilitate actual discussion in a non-linear format, rather than this linear format which will quickly lead to disjointed discussion. After all, we are a democracy that requires discussion and consensious before action. Also, the Halo Nation Voting Policy applies to such a proposition as demotion.
