Certain Affinity is a game development studio created in December 2006. The studio was formed by ex-Bungie employee Max Hoberman. In addition to staff from Bungie, it also includes ex-members of companies such as Microsoft, Red Storm, Origin, Electronic Arts, Digital Anvil and NCSoft.
The studio's first work was creating two additional multiplayer maps for the popular Xbox, Xbox Live, and Windows Vista game Halo 2. These maps, called Desolation and Tombstone, are remakes of levels that were in Halo: Combat Evolved, called Derelict and Hang 'Em High, respectively. They were released for Halo 2 over the Xbox Live (Silver and Gold) service in April 17, 2007. Certain Affinity members worked closely with members of Bungie and Microsoft during the development of these two maps.
The studio created remakes of popular Halo: CE and Halo 2 multiplayer maps for Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary. These maps are Battle Canyon, Penance, High Noon, Breakneck, Solitary, and Ridgeline.
Certain Affinity created seven multiplayer maps for Halo 2: Anniversary in Halo: The Master Chief Collection: Lockdown, Bloodline, Stonetown, Zenith, Shrine, Warlord, and Remnant.
