Major John Smith was an ONI scientist working for Section III aboard the UNSC prison vessel Mona Lisa.
Biography[]
In 2552, he studied several Flood-infected Elites and human prisoners. He also conducted research in hope of turning the Flood into warriors for the UNSC.
When the ship was overridden by the Flood, he remained hidden inside a small room until he was discovered by Zhao Heng Lopez's squad. Initially feigning ignorance, his true story and motivations came to light after several attacks by the Flood, causing Lopez and her men to escort him at gunpoint out of anger. He later escaped aboard their Pelican, betraying the squad and leaving them for dead aboard the ship.[1]
