Long Time Coming was a prospecting vessel in commission with the Office of Naval Intelligence.[1] The ship had a sizeable cargo bay for prospecting equipment and a transmitter for raising a Slipbeacon.[2]
History[]
Some time after the Battle of Tribute during the Human-Covenant war, this ship carried, carefully hidden, SPARTAN-II Team Black for a covert mission in a Covenant-controlled sector of space. Unfortunately, the ship was mysteriously attacked while in Slipspace. Consequently, it transitioned back to normal space and crash landed on an unknown Moon. The common crew was killed in the attack: only the Spartans and onboard A.I, Iona, survived the impact.[2]
