The Gravity Rifle is a deleted weapon in Halo: Combat Evolved.

Summary
The Gravity Rifle was going to be a Covenant Sniper Rifle, but Bungie decided to delete it, like they did with the Engineer and Flamethrower. However, the weapon (usable via devmode commands) is still within the game's maps, but was never made a proper texture, first person mode and projectile.

Halo: Custom Edition
Though the weapon was deleted from the game, the code still exists within the game's maps, and is possible to use in Halo: Custom Edition in certain maps using the devmode command cheat_all_weapons.

There is no animation for it being fired, but it will create a bright flash when shot. It's similar to the flamethrower, except it only starts a fire when you point it at a solid object.

The Gravity Rifle is an unused weapon in Halo: Combat Evolved. The weapon is included in the game's map files, but does not have a first person model, projectile, or string. It will create a bright flash when shot at a nearby solid object, similar to the effect of the Flamethrower.
Despite having no reticule or scope, the weapon is extremely accurate. Also, it has unlimited ammunition, due to it not having a set clip or magazine.

In Halo: Combat Evolved, it is only possible to use this weapon through modding. In Halo Custom Edition, the weapon can be used in certain maps by using the devmode command <tt>cheat_all_weapons</tt>.

Trivia
*If you go to pick it up, the screen will say "Press (action button) To pick up <need string entry here>". This is due to it not having a string entry.

*When viewed in first person mode, there will appear to be nothing on the screen (Unless you are using a community made model on certain custom maps).

*The Gravity Rifle almost works as a Concussion Rifle

*The Gravity Rifle is similar to the flame thrower, but the fire takes about a second to start.

*The Gravity Rifle's model is often used as a base for custom weapons in Halo: Custom Edition, one notable example was a "Needle Shotgun" which caused an instant supercombine when fired into a target at close range.

*The Gravity Rifle is available in some maps for the PC versions of Halo through modding.

*Modders have been able to add a model and sound FX to the weapon, as well as a reticule.

*The Gravity Rifle is shown in editors to have an extremely large ammo capacity for a sniper rifle (400 rounds), most likely to make up for its high, flamethrower-like firerate.

The Gravity Rifle.

The Gravity Rifle is an unused weapon in Halo: Combat Evolved. The weapon is included in the game's map files, but does not have a first person model, projectile, or string. It will create a bright flash when shot at a nearby solid object, similar to the effect of the Flamethrower.

In Halo: Combat Evolved, it is only possible to use this weapon through modding. In Halo Custom Edition, the weapon can be used in certain maps by using the devmode command cheat_all_weapons.
