The Gravity Cannon is a directed energy weapon integrated into the gravity thrones used by the Covenant High Prophets.[1]

The glowing circles on either side of the gravity throne are the barrels of the gravity cannon.
The gravity cannon functions quite similarly to the assault cannon used by the Mgalekgolo. It fires a broad stream of dull yellow energy which can be sustained for several seconds. The beam is capable of forcing heavy objects out of its path and can kill even a fully shielded SPARTAN with only a brief discharge. Being installed on a Hierarch's gravity throne, the weapon can be used via a console on the throne's arm.
