The Gravity Portal is a structure built by the Covenant. It consists of a horizontal anti-gravity field, often over a large gap, acting as a bridge. Whoever enters the anti-gravity field will immediately be carried to the other side of the bridge at a high speed. The Gravity Portals are not always linear, and curved ones appear as well.[1][2]

Appearances

Gravity Portals are only encountered in Halo 2, as they are replaced in Halo 3 by the man cannon. They are seen in gameplay in the levels Gravemind and High Charity, and are usable by the player. They are seen acting as bridges between the Valleys of Tears and within the Step of Silence.[1][2]
