Halo Infinite[Note 1] is the sequel to Halo 5: Guardians and the third part of the Reclaimer Saga. It was developed by 343 Industries. It is available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Windows PCs. The multiplayer was released on November 15, 2021 for the 20th Anniversary of Halo[7] and the Campaign was released on December 8, 2021.[8]
Halo Infinite will feature the cooperative play system of Halo 5: Guardians, with features such as Forge being added on November 8th 2022. The multiplayer segment is completely free and can be downloaded separately from the main campaign, but the campaign must be paid for.
Halo Infinite is built on an entirely new engine, titled the Slipspace Engine.[9]

User Content
Post-Launch Content
Over the course of Infinite's lifespan, several updates were delivered in both the form of events and more conventional seasons. As of July 4th, 2024, seasons have mostly been supplanted by Operations.
Season 2
Season 2 of Halo Infinite released on May 3rd 2022, its battle pass is named "Lone Wolves". Currently, the season contains 1 BTB map, and 1 for core game modes, it will also feature multiple new game modes. Its fracture event is "Entrenched" adding a new armor cores, visors, helmets etc.

Winter Update
The Halo Infinite Winter Update came out on November 8th, 2022, adding campaign co-op, and mission player. The multiplayer now features two new multiplayer maps, Detachment and Argyle. It introduced Match XP beta which allows the player to gain XP based on performance without completing challenges. It also added new game modes like Covert One Flag and Team Survivors. The addition of a Custom Game Browser came later during the season.

343 Industries employee Frank O'Connor has said Halo Infinite will not feature a Battle Royale mode. [17] Halo Infinite is being developed by 343 Industries using the new Slipspace Engine. According to Microsoft, Master Chief returns in Halo Infinite with "his greatest adventure yet to save humanity".[18]
Trivia
- A joke script for the game, titled Halo 6: Yabda Cuts Loose, was used as a prop in the Halo Mannequin Challenge.[19] It was written by Nick Ardizzone, and starred the titular Unggoy, Yabda "the Merciless".[20]
