Halo Online is a free-to-play multiplayer-only Halo game that will be released exclusively in Russia. The game is optimized for lower-end PCs and will begin a closed beta in Spring 2015.

Gameplay

The multiplayer mode is based on a modified version of Halo 3's engine and will feature several classic weapons, vehicles, and maps, in addition to some new maps. One of the new maps will be set in a Russian town. Match player counts can vary between 4 and 16 players.

Though the game lacks a campaign, the War Games simulations depicted take place shortly after the events of Halo 3 on a secret UNSC space station called Anvil. Here, SPARTAN-IVs train to hone their battle skills and test new technology.

Trivia

• 343 Industries has no plans to expand the game to other territories. However, they stated that if it were to happen, the game would have to go through "region-specific changes" to match players' expectations in different territories.
• 343 Industries has also no plans to bring the game to Xbox One, as the game was built "from the ground up" for PC.
