Horses were a species of animal mainly used by Humans as an old way of transporting cargo and people.[1]
Halo: Nightfall[]
Several horses were used on a fragment of Installation 04 by two Alerian smugglers named Arris Le and Haisal Wari. When Locke and his team discovered their Alerian Tug they also discovered the compartment with which the horses where moved here.
After finding the two smugglers mining in a cave, Locke finds out that the horses were used to transport boxes with the contraband. The horses were soon killed in a Thanolekgolo attack.
Later on, Arris Le explains that the lekgolo are drawn to technology and movement, thus explaining why the two smugglers were using such an old way of transport.
