The Interplanetary War was a large war between the United Nations, Koslovics, Friedens, and a number of other National governments.[1]
Background
As overpopulation and unrest mounted on Earth, a number of new political movements were formed, including the Koslovics and the Jovian Frieden movement (the latter of which attacked the United Nations Colonial advisers on Io, one of the moons of Jupiter) and UN-sponsored military forces began a pattern of massive buildups which culminated with the Interplanetary War. After a successful Marine attack on Mars, recruitment drives and propaganda tactics strongly bolstered UNSC forces.[1]

History
Beginnings
Frieden forces attacking a City
When humans started to colonize the stars, World Wars on Earth began to shatter the nations on Earth's power on the colonies. Many ideas and philosophies spread. Overpopulation and civil unrest on Earth began to take its toll. A miner-turned-terrorist known as Vladimir Koslov began an uprising in a mine. He and his followers took on the example of the Soviet Union in the 1900s and began to violently overtake mines around his colony on Mars. He was deemed a terrorist by the United Nations. Their ideas began to spread around on colonies and on Earth. However, another terrorist faction by the name of the Friedens began to rise. The Friedens split into two factions, the Neo-Friedens and the Friedens. Both these factions began to spread acts of terrorism around the colonies and even assassinated UN colonial advisors. Fighting broke out between the Koslovics and the Friedens and the fighting got very violent and destructive. One of these fights came to be known as the Rain Forest Wars.
War
A battle in the War
In 2163, the Frieden's leader was assassinated and this infuriated the Friedens as it weakened them greatly. They began to send out all their military forces and attacking the Koslovic's base on Mars. The base was obliterated within hours. It was around 2164 that it was theorized the conflict known as the Interplanetary War began. A United Nations military force (which would later be known as the United Nations Space Command) was deployed in many areas to fight the terrorists. The UN began to gather many forces due to propaganda and recruitment drives. The death toll in these fights got to be very high, but the UN was able to accept it since it kept anyone from bringing the fight to Earth.
Endings
In August of 2167, the Koslovic's leader Vladimir Koslov and his family were killed in a bombing raid. This ultimately lead to the Koslovics being defeated at the hands of the UN. The Friedens savagely fought until most of the faction was obliterated. The Callisto Treaty was created in 2170 when both Koslovic and Frieden commanders surrendered. The Unified Earth Government was created as a stronger government and was the single governing faction in order to prevent another war.
