Sergeant Lian Deveraux is an ODST pilot from the 10th Shock Troops Battalion. In January 2553, she, Staff Sergeant Malcolm Geffen, and Corporal Vasily Beloi were hand-picked by the Office of Naval Intelligence to serve under Captain Serin Osman in a covert operations team known as Kilo-Five. Devereaux served as Kilo-Five's pilot, transporting the team on various missions on the D77-TC dropship, using UNSC Port Stanley as a base of operations.
