Loadouts are preset classes that a player can choose at the beginning of a match and before respawn in Halo: Reach's multiplayer and Firefight modes. Loadouts and their options are set by the gametype, and players can create and modify loadouts in the custom gametype options. Each loadout consists of a primary weapon, a secondary weapon, a grenade type, and an Armor Ability.
