The Rocket Pistol (name unconfirmed) is what appears to be a single-shot, muzzle reloaded rocket/grenade launcher. It has only been seen during the Halo 4 teaser trailer, with Master Chief John-117 using it to blow open a door on the UNSC Forward Unto Dawn.
Weapon Dynamics
Template:Conjecturalization The Rocket Pistol seems to fire a propelled adhesive rocket, grenade or possibly a mini cryo bomb. The projectile leaves a tell tale trail and sticks to objects, rather than bouncing off or exploding. When fired, a back portion of the pistol raises up, the detonator. It can be used to remotely detonate the rocket/grenade by pushing down onto it.
The weapon holds only a single projectile at a time. It is reloaded by sliding a new rocket/grenade onto the front of the pistol, making it a muzzle loading weapon. Template:Conjecturalization End
Trivia
- Currently, the Rocket Pistol does not have an official name.
- It seems that Master Chief has experience using the Rocket Pistol, as he can be seen fluidly operating it during the teaser trailer. It could mean that the Rocket Pistol may be an older weapon, seeing service during the Human-Covenant War, or possibly even earlier.
