The Mako-class corvette was perhaps the most ubiquitous corvette in human space. Although now decommissioned due to maintenance issues, the Mako-class once found popularity thanks to its small size and had a long and illustrious career with the UNSC Navy, CMA and security forces in both Sol and the extrasolar colonies. Loved by the crews, but hated by the shipyard personnel, the UNSC retired its Mako-class corvettes early in the Covenant War and transitioned them to the second-line defense fleets.[1][2]
Several of such corvettes were used by the Eridanus Rebels at their asteroid base of Eridanus Secundus, used by the rebels as part of their improvised fleet.[3]
