  • Could you give me something to do that can help the wiki. As I don't know what to do and I am worried that I will edit articles that are perfectly fine. I wil do them as best I can and I hoping that I can help the wiki. Thank you for reading this message.

  • Could give a comprehensive list of visual differences between the Halo: Reach Marine BDU (left) and the Army BDU (right, fourth only)? Their respective articles may need the information put in, as well.

    Marine Comparisons

The Army BDU (far right), compared the Marine BDU of the Bungie Trilogy (first three).

    BDU

The variations of the Marine BDU.

    • Apologies for not responding sooner, but this is what I can see in the two BDUs. The one on the left has an enclosed helmet, mismatched shoulder pads (neither of which are the same as the one on the right), and a smaller chest plate with easier seen shoulder straps. One of the pauldrons on the right BDU also has a few rounds attached to it.

I believe these are mostly representative of what each branch wears, but a degree of randomization in Reach's engine for BDUs and the appearance of the BDU on the right in CEA make it kind of difficult to 100% confirm that.

  • Hi, I just joined Halo Wikia a couple of days ago. I am currently working on adding information and pages about Halo: Rise of Atriox comics and its cast of characters. As I think it has insufficient attention. As I am new, please forgive and edit any mistakes I have made (I am very sorry if I made a lot of mistakes). I also would like any constructive comments from you and the other admins :).

    • Hi and welcome! From two of the articles I've seen you work on, my only recommendations are to make sure you cite as much information as you can and to try and add as much to a page in single edit as you can. Other than those things, you seem to be doing fine. If you have any other questions or comments, I'm always here to help!

  • Hi, I've just joined up. I bungled an early edit, hope that won't be a problem, fixed it as soon as I realised.

I was really wondering about setting up a new page or section, about the Covenant AI copying program from First Strike. There are oblique references to it, but it was of strategic importance, fed into several story points and is an unprecedented in-Universe ability at the time. How should I go about setting it up? I can't seem to find a communal space for voting or discussion on whether or not this warrants its own entry. I didn't want to annoy anyone by adding content without asking, and I can't source page numbers.

Perhaps a new entry in "Covenant AI"?

    • Welcome! Hopefully you'll enjoy it here. In terms of you specific question, I think the best way to approach it would be to add the known information on this Covenant AI copying program to the Associated Intelligence page. This page is about Covenant AIs in general. It's a mess at the moment but your information should fit. Please make sure that you source your info and avoid conjecture as much as you can. I know you said that the information is oblique but please stick to the information that book presents to you. If you have any trouble with anything, you can always come back and ask!

  • Hi, I am updating articles but reading from a kindle book that does not give page numbers. I am currently only refencing the book title and the chapter. Is this sufficient or is there a better option, should I use the Kindle location numbers?

Also, thanks for the advice, I am taking my time to make more edits in one go rather than coming back and making lots of little additions.

    • Once again thanks, is there a comprehensive list of categories somewhere? Also when referencing I've been using a format that uses [], however I notice that you use coding that uses {}, I wanted to learn about what the difference is, and which code I should use when but I can't see any reference to the format you use in https://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Help:References#Format ?

    • The closest thing we have to a comprehensive list of categories is one made for a project we attempted. It's missing a lot but it gives you the idea.

When it comes to sourcing the current "ref" format you're using is fine. I would recommend bolding the title of the book and italicizing the chapter, just for neatness. But if you want to use the template I use you can check this out. One thing of note though, the template page shows it being listed in a vertical manner. Please don't use it that way. Keep it all on the same line to prevent the page formatting from getting all screwy.

  • Thanks for tidying up my edits, I hope I'm not creating too much work for you, I'm learning as I go :)

    • No problem, new information is always appreciated. But please try and pack as much into each edit as possible. It makes it easier to keep track of.

    • Thanks, I will try. At the moment I keep spotting things I should/could have done differently/better as I learn and see more of the coding and pick up tips and tricks from other articles so keep having to go back and make small changes.

  • Ashley Bagwell and T.J. Storm been stated repeatedly to be Voridus and Paviums's voice actors in Halo waypoint and even IMDB says they're the voice actors. Should I add them?

    • Oh that. I know what that is. Its a Signature-supressed anti-material rifle. Aka its not the M99. (Though the upgrade doesnt actually change its model when upgraded to the M99 Stanchion in the game it seems so its rather annoying)

      https://www.halopedia.org/Signature-suppressed_anti-materiel_rifle

However while not confirmed to be the one used during Halo Wars 2 gameplay canonically it is known that at the very least Sunray 1-1 used the M99A2S3 Stanchion as that was built on the Spirit of Fire by Isabel. So its very possible all "Snipers" when upgraded to the M99 use this version of the weapon.

      Hope this helps. :D

  • Hestia V lacked images, so I added some. If it's good enough, please remove the template.

To avoid spamming, can I remove such templates in the future if I deem an article good enough or should I always ask?

      Loading editor
    • I'll remove it soon. And that would be much appreciated if you did. My personal rule would be that three or four images would be sufficient to remove, unless it is not possible to get more than one photo. If you also feel a page should have photos but can't add them yourself, you can add the template too. And if you ever feel unsure though, please come talk to me or one of the other admins.

    4 Banshees on "The Package"

    24 Hours of Quality

    Rifle Spree Medal

He also vandalized you're user page by adding unnescessary photos.
