Thx Edit

Thank you, I will try to give some good information to the halopedia (but I think it is quite good yet)

ps : I am french so excuse my poor english

As i was saying Edit

I think there should only be one sgt. major maybe give TOO the next rank down and so i'll need a new page to add to the UoH for the companies and i informed Manticore and Grizzlei to chose names for their companies. Also 781 is officially in as a master sgt.--UNSCOH COL. "Running Riot" Ryan Sm Sniper Rifle BAM 22:30, 2 July 2007 (UTC) 15:17, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Sounds good. Can you make all the arrangements for the new UoH page and when your done i'll put the companies up.--UNSCOH COL. "Running Riot" Ryan Sm Sniper Rifle BAM 22:30, 2 July 2007 (UTC) 16:17, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Designations Edit

Nice to talk to you again to RR.

So, are we going to use NATO Alphabet designations for the company? Because if so, Yankee is a designation. But i'll go with any name you need us to go with proudly!

Sincerely,
Captain Tony (CO of UOH Yankee Company) 7/19/2007

    • No problem, me and my XO, Forgottenlord are coming up with "D" names. He wanted Dirtbag Company. But I don't thing so.

And no, I currently do not know who my Major and Colonel are.

Sincerely,
Captain Tony (CO of UOH Yankee Company) 7/19/2007

    • Ryangreenday and Spartytime. Sounds great. And thank you for taking interest in our company. We could be like the Special Forces wing of the UNSCoH! HAHA

Sincerely,
Captain Tony (CO of UOH Yankee Company) 7/19/2007

    • I'm thinking of Dingo Company. Also, why are you calling me skipper? You're the current General of the UNSCoH!

Sincerely,
Captain Tony (CO of UOH Yankee Company) 7/19/2007

    • As for quote:

"Retreat? Hell, we just got here!"

Name? I don't know I think either Dingo or Demon Company will be good.

Sincerely,
Captain Tony (CO of UOH Yankee Company) 7/19/2007

    • A Dingo is a wild dog from Australia. So I think we're going to go with Dingo Company then.

Sincerely,
Captain Tony (CO of UOH Yankee Company) 7/19/2007

New UoH Edit

Yeah I noticed theres some reorganization going on in the UoH what exactly is it all about? I have a feeling that with my rank I'll be put into some position of prominence, like Dragonclaws...--ED(talk)(gaming) 03:15, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Is there somewhere where the development of it all is being discussed? I was wondering a few things about it, I'm sure you all would understand more than me. --ED(talk)(gaming) 03:33, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I figure since I'm in on this group I should have some idea whats going on. I don't really have any authority in the UNSC of Halopedia, but I am curious because it all looks so durned interesting.
  1. What is the purpose of having multiple "companies" anyway? will they each have a different purpose (ie D company sources UNSC articles, C company expands articles them, etc) or will they all have seperate improvement drives, etc?
  2. Is there going to be a way to "wash out" inactive users? The current situation with four light companies looks good, but at the rate Halopedia's growing, they could all fill up, and will probably be unmanageable before that, with most users having become inactive. If not, are there provisions to add more companies?
  3. What exactly will the officers do? If you're shifting the UoH to a more realistic military organization I see the chain of command will be much more manageable, but you only really needed one officer per group for that. What will the Colonels, Majors, Captains, and Lieutenants be doing?
  4. Also, to make things more efficent, I'd recommend further splitting companies up into platoons, so privates can bug sergeants for promotion, who will in turn bother their officers, and so on up the ladder. But thats only if I'm seeing the organization correctly.

Just curious! --ED(talk)(gaming) 03:50, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks! Edit

Thanks. I knew this community was active but not THAT active. (Comments within 5 minutes...wow.) I don't know as much about the Halo Universe as I wish (hence, why I am here reading) but I do know what sounds proper and what sounds bad in English. I read the "Cradle of Life" article and could barely understand it. I hope that the changes are to everybody's liking and that (although I tried hard not to) the information in the article wasn't overly altered.

If you know of any pages (like the Cradle of Life) that need the spelling, grammar, and "flow" of the article improved, let me know.

UNSCoH/Promotion Edit

It has come to my attention that my XO, 2ndLt Forgottenlord, has done an excellent job on making the UNSC Navy article better. And I think that he should be promoted to the rank of First Lieutenant of the UNSCoH.

Sincerely,
Captain Tony (CO of UoH Dingo Company) 7/20/2007

It's back again! Edit

Dear RR,

I'm writing once again about the Rocket Launcher debate. I'd like to ask what it is about the Bungie sources that isn't conclusive? What makes you sure the Halo 2 rocket launcher is called the 'M41'? Even though both Bungie produced Halo 2 game manuals specifically refer to it as the 'M19'. Where did the 'M41' designation for this weapon come from? I agree that the Halo 3 weapon, for now, should be called the 'M41' because we have no other name for it. But the Halo 2 rocket launcher should come under the 'M19' heading.

I'd like to point out a case of accidental double standards if I may. The M90 Shotgun in Halo 2 underwent changes from Halo 1 and like the rocket launcher it's name remained the same. But on the shotgun page the Halo 2 version is referred to as the Mk 2 - a designation never mentioned in any Bungie material. Why then under, the same circumstances, does the Halo 2 rocket launcher receive different treatment? Should it not receive a designation of 'M19 Mk 2'? Not a whole new name and article?

Thanks for reading, please respond. --A Monument to All Your Sins 17:27, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

More evidence from Bungie. The Art of Halo from page 95 onwards goes through all the weaponry of the two games. Page 101 concerns the Rocket launcher. It shows a 3D render of the Halo 2 version of the rocket launcher and lists it as the 'M19 SSM'. This book refers to every weapon from Halo: CE (Xbox and PC versions) and Halo 2. It does NOT list two rocket launcher types, just the one. The 'M19'.

So we have both versions of the Halo 2 game manual stating it as the 'M19'. They can't both be wrong. - 2 Bungie sources. We also have the Art of Halo confirming the weapon as the 'M19' - now 3 Bungie sources all for the merge.

So far all evidence to the contrary has been based on game mechanics like it "shoots faster" and it "looks different". Are these not just alterations that Bungie makes to a game? Like removing plasma freezing from the Plasma Rifle, changing its firing sound - didn't make it a different weapon. Or changing the look, damage, blast radius and sound of the frag grenades - still the same weapon. Or changing the look of, reducing the range, damage and ammo capacity of the shotgun - still on the same article page just listed as a MkII. These differences do not indicate that this is a completely new weapon. The lock on ability is just another change to improve on gameplay mechanics, to allow better anti-vehicle capabilities. Should the Halo 2 variant not be listed as the 'M19 SSM MkII' then in a similar fashion to the shotgun article?

Just an observation but people seem to be rejecting this merge notion based on asthetics but demanding Bungie sourced proof (which has been provided) to counter their claims.

Is that not conclusive evidence? Whoa that seemed like a rant, ;-)--A Monument to All Your Sins 18:31, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Rocket launcher compromise Edit

I've placed a compromise situation on the debate page that I feel satisfies both parties. It uses the same principal as the M90 Shotgun article, as such there is already an accepted precident for it here at Halopedia. I hope that you find the compromise situation appealing and that you help us in giving Halopedians a more accurate perspective on this part of the Halo universe. --A Monument to All Your Sins 19:56, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

"A" Company Edit

RR, Sounds good, sir. It's not all that confusing in my opinion. Looking forward to the finished products. --Ghost 15:59, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

One more time ;-) Edit

I'm beginning to sound like a broken record here, but oh well.

We have 2 designations for the rocket launchers of Halo. The "M19 SSM Rocket Launcher" of Halo 1 and Halo 2. The "M41 MAV/AW" suspectedly of Halo 3.

The acronym designations are a clue to the identity. On page 103 of the Halo Graphic Novel (A product produced by Marvel in tight unison with Bungie) the Ammunition casing for the rocket launcher can clearly be seen. It clearly states that the contents within (the disposable rocket tubes) are "M19 Surface to Suface missles". The first designation is here, as a designation of the missiles within. Therefore any launcher of these missiles is the a "M19 SSM Rocket launcher". This coincides with the names given by Bungie so far.

The M41 MAV/AW stencil is written on the launcher part of the system not anywhere on the missile tubes. Therefore is it not logical to draw the conclusion that this is the designation of the Launcher! Therefore both names are correct and referring to the same object. Please tell me if this is enough evidence for a merge. So far we have 3 Bungie game manuals, the Halo graphic novel and the the Art of Halo all pointing to the same conclusion. Please RSVP. --A Monument to All Your Sins 18:41, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Re: "A" Company Edit

Wow, I seriously don't even know where to begin with questions about this. I guess we can start with: What purpose shall these companies serve? And what sort of maintenance is required on these companies?

I can only assume this came about from some erratic conversation in the live chat, knowing what usually goes on in there. I leave my house for 1 night, and look what happens ;)

User complaint! Edit

Hi RR,

I know this user is only 12 years old but I feel that his appauling spelling and grammatical mistakes need to be brought to his attention. I've had to do a thorough clean up of the Battle of the Quarantine Zone after his contributions. The user in question is Thunderstream328. Like I said he is young but I feel it is his responsibility to rectify these problems.

PS you read my Rocket Launcher stuff yet ;-)

Dear RR, Really like the new sig! Very snazzy! Hey I'm not really that bothered by the user, I wasn't asking for anything drastic, just a mention. When you have read the launcher stuff could you get back to me, it would be much appreciated. --A Monument to All Your Sins 21:51, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
