The Multiple Launch Rocket System-1 Hydra Gyroc Launcher, often shortened to Hydra Launcher, Hydra or Hydra MLRS, is a medium-range airburst missile launcher.[1] It features a 6 missile cylinder and a lock-on feature when zoomed in.
Design
The Hydra MLRS is a highly versatile missile launcher designed to be effective against both infantry and vehicle targets. It is meant to be easy to operate, similar to a rifle. The Hydra can be used in a direct-fire mode, but it is most effective when the missiles lock on and are automatically guided to their targets using a real-time VISR connection. The Hydra's lock-on system can target not only individual infantry, but also distinct parts of enemy vehicles, allowing for a quick and easy kill.[1]
