Halo 3 Medal

"Sharpshooter" is a spree medal awarded in Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach for killing 10 opponents in a row with the Sniper rifle or Beam Rifle (together or not) without dying. Melees with the Sniper Rifle or Beam Rifle do not count toward gaining this medal. It is represented by a bronze five-pointed star with green crosshairs (much like the Battle rifle crosshair when aimed at a teammate's head).

Tips and Tricks

If you are trying to get this medal by getting 10 consecutive sniper kills, try to stay far back so you can pick off enemies. However, make sure you have cover if you need to retreat. If someone decides to rush close range, try to pre-nade to lower their shield, requiring only 1 no scope shot to kill them rather than two or the hard no scope headshot. A way to get this is to play Team Snipers on Sandtrap. Hang out by the Albatross and Phantom.

Trivia

• This is easier to get with the Sniper Rifle due to the more rapid rate of fire, more ammo capacity and more appearances throughout the many Halo maps.
  • One of the best tactics for getting this medal is in wide open maps i.e. (Sandtrap, Last Resort and Valhalla for Halo 3; Hemorrhage, Paradiso and Boardwalk for Halo: Reach).
