The shock rifle is a weapon which is semi-automatic. Projectiles arc on impact and damage nearby targets. It is effective against shields, and it has a zoom.

The arc effect is quite useful to damage a group of enemies that are close to each other. For the arc effect to work, it does not actually have to hit a player. It can hit weaponry on the ground and arc from them. The player can disable a vehicle for some seconds with 3 shots of the shock rifle. Although it's meant to be a tactical rifle, the community uses it as a mid- range sniper, due to its ability to kill a player with one headshot.
