A signal flare, sometimes referred to as a "fuse," is an elongated tube filled with a chemical that is ignited to produce light.[1] Signal flares are most often used to illuminate weapons caches, mark paths for friendly forces, and to signal aircraft, such as Dropships or VTOL.
Notable Uses[]
- In Halo: Fall of Reach, John-117 used a blue flare to signal for his squad to be picked up by a Pelican.
- In Halo: Reach, Noble Six used a red signal flare to signal for pickup after the civilians were evacuated from New Alexandria. Later, Noble team used a Blue flare to signal for help.
Trivia[]
- Signal flares can be seen in several locations throughout Halo 3, most notably on Sierra 117 inside the various tunnels.
