The Sniper Rifle System 99D Anti-'Matériel'[1], also known as SRS99 Special Applications[2], is a United Nations Space Command firearm.
Background
The SRS-99D first entered service with the Army in 2460. Because of its modularity and ongoing manufacturer support, the SRS99 was adopted by all branches in 2521.[2]
Design Details
It is a gas-operated rifle, firing 14.5x114mm ammunition. Also, unlike most other models, this variant features a thumbhole stock, whereas other models featured a pistol grip.
Trivia
- The SRS99D-AM now utilizes a sling mount, unlike its successors.
- The SRS99D-AM's scope is similar to the SRS99D-S2 AM's scope, with green outlines of objects. It will also show the ID of the user (in SPARTAN-B312's case, "ID-NOBLE6"). There is also a small UNSC logo on the left of the scope.
- More than likely, this is SPARTAN-A266's weapon of choice.
