Strongholds[1] is a multiplayer game mode in Halo Wars 2 in which all players start with near unlimited resources and cannot improve their tech level by expanding their base, instead tech for all players is levelled up over time.[2] "Strongholds" are placed around the map which are usually in the form of mini bases. If a player gains control of a stronghold, their population cap will increase by five. Players/teams can either win by being in control of the most strongholds when the timer runs out, controlling all of the strongholds on the map for one consecutive minute or by destroying all enemy bases and units.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • A game-type of the same name is featured in Halo 5: Guardians, however the two game-types have very different rules and only share minor similarities.
