Country[]

Since when has Reach been a country? The colonies have some degree of sovereignty, but ultimately, they're under control of the UEG, or during the war, the UNSC (as per "emergency military" government mentioned in the Bestiarum). I've never heard the human colonies being referred to as independent in the same sense as countries today, especially considering how even Earth countries aren't really independent anymore in the same sense as today. If the colonies were really independent "countries", why would they want to break free of Earth's influence in the first place? Plus, since they're UNSC Army, they answer to the UEG (like the UNSC itself). --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 14:02, August 17, 2010 (UTC)

It's not an empire. Each colony has its own local and elected government (as shown with Harvest) who hold influence over their colony. Each colony seems to make their own laws - different worlds seem to have different enlistment ages. Besides, were all colonies to be part of "Unified Earth", why would the UN be there? And why does Unified Earth have its own space corps?-- Forerunner 14:58, August 17, 2010 (UTC)
Me and Subtank discussed it (And Dragonclaws to an extent). If not sovereign entities, they are at the very least autonomous exclaves.-- Forerunner 15:01, August 17, 2010 (UTC)
Autonomous exclaves sound more like it. Also, Bungie says the UN is a part of the UEG here:
HSP: How does the UNSC, political-wise, relate to the UN, UEG and CAA, and which one of those entities is the supreme authority of the UNSC?
FO/RM: The UNSC is the military branch of the UEG. The UN is part of the UEG. The CAA is the governing body in control of the colonies. During the Covenant War the UNSC has more or less been given control of both the UEG and the CAA (the CAA was a little more resistant to the idea than the UEG and has subsequently been stripped of most of its power).
This means that UEG is the one with the ultimate authority, and the actual government of humanity instead of just a large-scale organization like the UN. The question of why would the UN be there when the UEG is the highest ruling body was actually something I was wondering here. Also the Insurrection point still stands; even when the colonies have their own governments, their sovereignty is very limited which is why some of the colonists started to rebel. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 15:09, August 17, 2010 (UTC)

Not ODST armor[]

That isn't ODST, yeah, the breastplate and pauldrons are the same, but look at the rest. The rest are some sort of fabric fatigues, not armor... and definitely not rated for EVA. DarkbelowHGR CommbandD 06:20, August 24, 2010 (UTC)
