Just wanted to comment on this: The Halo Terminals don't explicitly say anywhere that these anecdotes are about Forerunner planets. In fact, they say that a Forerunner is simply observing the battles taking place suggesting that these are in fact other sentient species trying to defend themselves.

Math totally wrong Edit

The math here does not add up at all. However, I don't know which values were given from the terminal, and which were calculated (incorrectly). Can someone determine the actual values given so that the math can be corrected? Sgt_D_Grif.gif 03:34, October 24, 2014 (UTC)

Are you talking about the population?
“Estimated number of citizens evacuated before commencement of orbital blanket bombardment: 1,318,797 civilian / 42,669 military (.0006% of total population).”
1,318,797 + 42,669 = 1,361,466 evacuees. 1,361,466 / 0.0006 (percent of population) = 2,269,110,000 total population, or approximately 2.27 billion. That's only 0.02 billion different from what the article shows. -- Vektor0 (talk) 04:13, October 24, 2014 (UTC)
To multiply/divide by a percent, you need to move the decimal over two places. For example 5% of 100 is 100 x .05, not 100 x 5. To find 0.0006% of 2.25 billion you'd go 2,250,000,000 x .000006 which equals 13,500. That's quite a bit off from 1,361,466. Sgt_D_Grif.gif 03:35, December 20, 2014 (UTC)
