Battle[]

Correct me if I'm wrong, but do we have any idea if there was a battle at all? I recall everything that was mentioned was that Eridanus II was glassed. There wasn't necessarily a battle; the Covenant could've just glassed it with no UNSC resistance present. I think the information we have is insufficient to warrant an article. Plus, it's ridiculously short; this could basically be explained in the Eridanus II article. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 20:39, March 21, 2010 (UTC)

If one could provide a proper reference, it would make it easier for others to check whether or not an actual battle takes place.- 5əb'7aŋk(7alk) 21:46, March 21, 2010 (UTC)
I can't remember the page, but it's when the Gettysburg/Ascendant Justice arrives at Eridanus Secundus. John remembers being in this system before; his homeworld of Eridanus II. He then thinks about the war, citing that Eridanus had been lost.-- Forerunner 22:08, March 21, 2010 (UTC)
I do recall that. My point was, I don't remember there being a mention of a battle between the UNSC and the Covenant. Let me clarity; just because they glassed the planet doesn't mean there was a battle. That's probably how it went with most colonies. Of course, there could have been a battle, but I don't think the statement in First Strike makes any mention of there being one, only that the planet was glassed. For this very reason, a page titled "Battle of Madrigal" was deleted; The Covenant simply arrived, and glassed the planet. It isn't a battle if the other side doesn't put up a fight. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 22:35, March 21, 2010 (UTC)
With the source provided, my point still stands. That page doesn't mention if the UNSC put up a fight or if the Covenant simply glassed the planet and moved on; the latter is what the mention on the page seems to imply. As far as I recall, page 240 is the only time the glassing of Eridanus II is ever mentioned. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 18:21, April 25, 2010 (UTC)
