The actual title is Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, not Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition. I do agree, though, that it seems logical to think the latter would be the title...but it is not so.
The accepted articles (actual articles/pages and redirects, both) should ONLY be the following: Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo: CEA, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition. The main page is this one, the other two should redirect here. —This unsigned comment is made by Death058 (talk • contribs) . Please sign your posts with ~~~~!
Legendary Ending Edit
I think the Legendary Ending for Halo Anniversary will be changed cause Sergeant Johnson never died until Halo 3. From what I read, it states that Sergeant Johnson and a couple of other surviving Marines escaped Halo by Pelican before Master Chief destroyed it, so it is a possibilty. Exteminator101 01:27, June 28, 2011 (UTC)
They probably wouldnt change the legendary ending because it's the same game but it would be nice to see the cannon escape provided it's an epic enough tale to actually tell. I would much rather they add a bonus level that takes place between Halo: CE and Halo 2 to show what happend in between. PP7Silenced 14:32, June 28, 2011 (UTC)
Exterminator, that easter egg in Halo's ending was indeed non-canon. Stated by the Bungie crew themselves, I doubt that a human would hug an alien never before seen or known. Nanosoldier 19:56, June 28, 2011 (UTC)
They will not change it, as everthing in the game is identical, they have not changed the gameplay/cutscenes/ai animations/scripts/physics etc. They are simply putting a new graphics layer over the top of the original engine. The egg will remain, as it is considered classic to the game. Keygenftw 8:20, 4th July 2011 (AEST)
You're slightly wrong about the cutscenes and animations. Ingame animations are the same, but cutscenes have redone animations (proper motion-capture etc.) and sometimes have different camera angles. As for the egg, it was never canon in the first place, and 343i has said they're gonna include every single egg they can. Serithi 03:44, September 2, 2011 (UTC)
Speculation and Discussion Edit
I am absolutely sure that one of the 7 multiplayer maps will be Blood Gulch: that's THE most popular Halo Maps: it reappeared as Coagulation, there are pieces of it in Valhalla. It even appeared in Halo Wars: a FPS map in an RTS game. Blood Gulch HAS to be popular. People would be very upset if Blood Gulch DIDN'T appear. IceBite 23:01, June 20, 2011 (UTC)
Amd I would be one of those people. The Trucker 23:32, June 20, 2011 (UTC)
- There already is a Blood Gulch remake for Reach multiplayer; it's called Hemorrhage. -Karl-591 01:48, June 21, 2011 (UTC)
- I meant the original. Reach version just doesn't have that Blood Gulch feel. The Trucker 18:59, June 23, 2011 (UTC)
No, they are not remaking Blood Gulch, as they 'already have' in Hemorrhage. It is not, however (in my opinion) a faithful remake. If you look at the screenshots of Damnation (the only map they have really showed off) you can clearly see that it not a faithful remake either. This is a dissapointment. 6 Multiplayers maps, 1 Firefight map (all in the Reach engine). The firefight map is said to take place 'very much in the Halo: Combat Evolved Universe' but in the Reach engine. This could look nice. It is also speculated that this map could feature the flood. Again, since it is in the Reach engine as opposed to the CE/Reach hybrid that the campaign is running off, the flood could look very nice, and could maybe even have infections. I doubt the campaign will though, as they are keeping all the AI/gun animations to keep it authentic. This is a great shame. I personally do not think a Firefight map should have the flood, fighting flood should be earnt by progressing through the campaign, not by pressing a simple button in the menu. They claim that the reason for using the Reach multiplayer is so they 'don't split up the multiplayer community'. If it splits up, MS won't get any more money from people buying map packs! =O Money is what is has and always will be about with Microsoft (Bungie is a different story). Halo: CE was released for PC 2 years after it was for the XBOX, Halo 2 was 3 years, 3, ODST, Reach haven't and won't be. This all to make us buy consoles. I did. Off eBay, second hand, RROD, repaired, opened up, warranty voided. =D As for pressing the 'back' button to switch between old and new graphics, it's a nice feature, but I can't imagine myself switching back to the CE graphics too often. I find it a little tedious. I also think they are rushing to get it out by the 10th Anniversary release date. This is a small novelty that I find unnecessary. In my opinion, they should wait and do a far more proffessional job of it. I would release it at full price, or even maybe more, on two discs. One disc would include the original CE campaign, with support for Co-op over live, all multiplayer maps (including PC ones) with live, split screen, 360 controller settings, theatre, etc ALL IN THE ORIGINAL ENGINE, so fans get online multiplayer in our original engine. On the second disc, they should have the exact same thing, except all in the Reach engine, albeit still with exact same campaign layout, faithful multiplayer recreations etc. This would also allow the remake campaign to have better features, without being restricted by original CE animations etc. When switching between graphics, I suspect they will make a new HD hud (layout identical to the original) and won't bother changing it to the original one when switching back. The flood are shown in the trailer? The flood have never been shown in a trailer and never should be. They are kept a surprise; exception. My suspision is, that with the original CE engine running beneath the Reach graphics layer, and the price tag, Theatre will not be supported. Master Chief's helmet. I literally vomitted the first time I watched the trailer. 'This is now' BLLAARRRGHHH. This needs improvements. The Mark V armor featured in Halo 3 was more or less perfect, why not make it more like that? However, the helmet on the box art looks fine, hopefully will we see either of these in the final game. As it appears in the trailer, the Assault Rifle is the MA37 from Halo: Reach. *Sigh* I would like to see a nice remake of the ugly MA5B. Links to interesting articles, interviews:

Read page before you edit. Edit
Somebody keeps coming in and posting rumored information, speculation and previously posted content on this page. People are editing this page to conform to all of the other main Halo game pages but I have to come in every day and delete speculation that is already posted in the trivia section and delete a feature paragraph that I always find posted right below a paragraph that states the same features.
Whoever is doing this, please understand that your content is still in the article just put in coresponding sections. I know you worked hard on it but if you read the entire page it is STILL THERE.
Or you could just sent him a message. The Trucker 18:57, June 23, 2011 (UTC).
Just wanted to make sure the record is straight about this. The campaign is basically untouched aside from graphics and music right? Aside from 343 wanting to make the game look like it's from 2011 it's going to play like it's from 2001? The plasma pistol will not EMP wraiths, which you cannot board and drive. The pistol will be as strong as it was in the original, which in turn will compensate for the lack of the newer weapons like the DMR and the sword (good riddance). The needler will go back to being a crap weapon while the assault rifle will gain it's respectable 60 round clip. The driving mechanics and vehicle speeds that were excellent in Halo Reach will devolve, turning the once-again indestructible warthog back into the wedge-hog, capable of driving under scorpion tanks (whose aim will be abysmal again) and flipping them. All this for 40 bucks with a shiny new look and some Halo Reach recreated maps. For most of us this'll be mostly just for a new layer of varnish over a game most of us already have and some new Reach maps which might not be even shipped in a separate disc in the retail and may just be buyable online. I'm all for a remake of Halo CE, but I'd also like at least a little bit of the 10 years of progress to make it in. Better driving controls, and a tank that can actually aim, and some weapons tweakage would not kill the game. As is it seems like a cheap cash-in on our nostalgia with the least amount of effort. Unless someone has some info on whether some of the things I mentioned have been tweaked a bit.--Zervziel 19:05, July 8, 2011 (UTC)
Correct, this game runs on the Halo (2001) engine. The only difference they have made is that due to the XBOX 360's increased performance, now they can run a second graphics layer over the top. This changes only what you see, not what you feel. Think of it like each time you switch to classic mode the new textures become transparent and the old textures become visible. They are both always running simultaneously. Any lack of features you had back in 2001 you have now. Hey! The needler wasn't that bad. I agree with the dissapointment of using the Reach engine for the multiplayer, even worse with the unauthentic map remakes. Keygenftw 14:18, July 9, 2011 (AEST)
They should still make some slight tweaks to certain things, namely the AI. Maybe not the enemy AI, i replayed Halo 1 again and i thought it was pretty cool with the Elites crouching just in time to avoid being headshotted (which they don't do anymore, i think), etc. but definitely the Marine's AI (Marine in a Ghost is more dangerous than an Elite in one). Serithi 01:22, July 10, 2011 (UTC)
In the page it states that it runs on the saber3d engine or is that for graphics. Fuzz 02:49, July 27, 2011 (UTC)
That's just for the new graphics, yes. Serithi 03:40, September 2, 2011 (UTC)

Timberlands confirmed to be remade for CEA Edit
In the following g4 interview Frankie confirms that the map with the warthog from the e3 trailer was, in fact, Timberlands from Halo PC. Since I can't seem to edit the article someone else should put that in. A few other tidbits of good information are in there as well such as one of the maps coming from Halo 2 and something "new" for the firefight map.SBP 00:45, August 4, 2011 (UTC)SBP
Will the Marines AI be improved? Or will the Covenant be able to kill them as easy as they did before?
- Nope. The AI is exactly the same as the original game. Honestly the only difference between the two games is the graphics and a couple sound effects. But hey you never know. Maybe they will improve the AI. Xboxannihilator 23:04, August 10, 2011 (UTC)
- Well that's just perfect. Hopefully the A.I. will be improved alongside the Master Chiefs look, because I don't want to keep looking for health packs every five seconds due to having to save the Marines. That is due to the fact I try to treat the Marines like they are real people and keep them alive when I play the campaign.
- I can tell you right now, the A.I. isn't getting improved. Default gameplay is completely unchanged, and even though skulls are in the game, 343i has said that none of them improve or change the A.I. in any way (so that means skulls like Tough Luck etc. aren't in). - Wrong. There actually was a demo but was released 10 years ago for the original Halo: CE. There probably isn't going to be one for CEA though.
- I'm sure that by now you know that we only want to play this game for its rich graphics. If we want to play the original game we would. I too want to play it for its graphics. I just want to jump into it now. And why wouldn't they make a demo? They made a demo for Halo Reach remember? Xboxannihilator 20:13, August 16, 2011 (UTC)
first of all its known that the remake will have forge but does any one know if it will have a totally customizable map like halo 3 sandbox or halo reach forge world???Raggedcozy 01:07, August 17, 2011 (UTC)
Anniversary includes Halo Reach multiplayer with the remake of Combat evolved maps and supports forge. Spyguts97 01:23, August 17, 2011 (UTC)
yes i know that but will any of the remake of Combat evolved maps be like sandbox or forge world or will it have a brand new totally customizable map to were u can put anything and averything??????????Raggedcozy 01:40, August 19, 2011 (UTC)
- Probably not. There's a good chance with Halo 4, though.
- Yes. All the new maps will be forgeable. On Battle Creek during multiplayer it is a small boxed in canyon but while in forge mode you can delete certain parts of the walls that allow access to an even larger environment outside the map. It could be assumed that Battle Creek is just one of the maps that are all attached together into one giant map, similar to Forge World. However, I wouldn't make any speculations just yet. XboxAnnihilator 16:27, August 22, 2011 (UTC)
on the page it say they will fix the bloom efect for the dmr first off all whats is a (bloom efect) because i dont see anything wroung with the DMR and they said they will add something to armer lock does anyone know what that is???Raggedcozy 23:06, August 23, 2011 (UTC)
- The bloom effect is what makes the reticule expand on the DMR, meaning you'll be able to make more rapid shots with it. Also, the added effect on the Armor Lock is that if you are damaged while using it, it's usage energy will drain faster. This means if you're hit with enough firepower, someone can drop your armor lock within seconds. Personally, I think the bloom effect should stay because you needed more skill and now there'll be a bunch of DMR spammers.Diijin 20:55, August 28, 2011 (UTC)
New Campaign level. Edit
In the campaign section some one put that there would be "a not-yet-decided-upon" level, is there a source for this, because unless some one gives me one im deleting it.Legionwrex 03:31, August 27, 2011 (UTC)
it was stated by 343 that there (MAY) be a bones level but if there will be has yet to be reveld as my sorce i heard it on xplay Raggedcozy 21:51, August 27, 2011 (UTC)
it say the the firefight map will be vehicle based so does that mean no flood firefight or is there still a chance for flood to be in a firefight map???????????Raggedcozy 21:59, August 27, 2011 (UTC)
I was hoping that there would be that option. If the Flood can be fought in Firefight, it would probably be on a different game mode rather than a particular map, however. For now, we'll just have to wait and see.Diijin 20:38, August 28, 2011 (UTC)

When it says that I will receive a code via email, does that mean I'll get it when the game comes out or can I get it now? Xboxannihilator 00:25, August 30, 2011 (UTC)
not so original gameplay Edit
people are saying this will be the same gameplay but what about the terminals that are in the campaign or the skulls for a remake thay are puting a lot of new stuff in the game thats not so original i think we should chane the page to say that the gamelay will be changed and not just the new graphic there will be new objects in the game campaign itself.Raggedcozy 14:44, August 30, 2011 (UTC)
- When they say the gameplay will be the same they meant that the guns, levels and story feel the same. The terminals do not affect gameplay whatsoever. Until the game comes out, we will judge whether or not the game feels the same. But until then, the article stays the same. XboxAnnihilator 02:29, September 3, 2011 (UTC)
This Game Could Be Better Edit
I am a huge Halo fan and trust 343 Industries with my life to make a good game. However, there are some things that can be better about this game.
- The Multiplayer should include all 19 old Multiplayer Maps.
- The Multiplayer should not run on the Halo Reach engine with the Halo Reach weapons.
- You should only be able to choose the color of your Spartan, as he looks awesome anyway.
- It should include more than one Firefight map.
- You should be able to wield the Fuel Rod Gun in Multiplayer (you've probably seen the Classic and Anniversary versions of maps and they could also have a PC version.)
I know that some people may disagree with me but this is just my opinion. You can post yours here. Dannylaz 21:16, September 3, 2011 (UTC)
i completly agreeRaggedcozy 14:44, September 6, 2011 (UTC)
I'm confident that in the near future there will be additional map packs for Anniversary with all the other maps they left out. Some of the maps were already remade into Halo Reach (Blood Gulch remade into Hemorrhage, etc.) Before you know it, we'll have all the maps. Maybe even firefight maps. As for your other arguments, I agree with you, but I feel that putting the multiplayer on Halo Reach is appropriate since Reach takes place right before Combat Evolved. Besides, Halo Reach practically just came out. It seems too soon to have an entirely new multiplayer system. To be fair, you have to wait at least two years before you make a new Halo game with a new multiplayer system. It's just about been a year since Reach came out. It's too soon. When Halo 4 comes out, though, it will be a new multiplayer system and then finally they will abandon the Reach engine :) Xboxannihilator 03:27, September 7, 2011 (UTC)
I also wish that the gameplay was like the original but they also want to make it community friendly so that both the halo reach players and CEA players can play together. Plus 343 Industries is not that big of a company. I think though they could have got the original multiplayer and used the engine they used for graphics to make it feel the same and look better. What The Hell Is Everybody Talking About?! This Game Is Fantastic! The Reach Multiplayer Was Dissapointing Though. But Its Actually Still Fun Just Because You Get To Use The Abilities On The Combat Evolved And Halo 2 Maps Like The Jet Pack And Hologram. Its Awesome That They Used The Second Mission For The FireFight Level Too. The Campaign Was Just Insane! Out Of All, The Game Is Really Fucking Fun! Brings Back Memories.

Johnson's Voice and Model Edit
I wasn't too interested on this "remake" so I just ignored it. However, I'm intrigued whether the Sergeant's appearance on Assault on the Control Room was fixed; was a new design made for Fire Team Zulu's Sergeant or was Johnson's model and voice reused despite the inconsistency? --SiberianDante (talk|contributions) 15:53, October 22, 2012 (UTC)
