This trailer is based towards the end of the game[]
My theory is, is that out of desperation Cortana somehow found a way to activate the Ark. She activated it because Gravemind now got the information he wanted from her and is on his way to earth. But are good friends , doctor halsey and the spartan III's find a way to Earth. Earth is really a shield world. Halsey making a connection between the forerunner symbols looking like aztec sends the chief to an old aztec temple where he finds a device that will allow him and the others to get inside the sheild. Now either they'll find a way to zap all the humans to the core or they find forerunner technology and re-create the human species. My personal theory is that this entire trailer is a possible scenario that Cortana is presenting to the Chief. The burst of energy coming forth from the Ark is the same life-ending burst that the Halos emit, hence "THIS is the way the world ends." I think the events of this entire trailer are simply what will happen if the Chief allows the Ark to be activated -- everyone in the Galaxy will die. Moviefreak732 07:10, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Easter Egg[]
I love how Bungie even had Easter Eggs in trailers. Bungie did a great job with Easter Eggs and I feel that did not rub off with 343i.
